It was the year of 2007, the last year of graduation, where I was in a super confused state with no clarity about my future, low on confidence, felt miserably stuck & had a high need for external validation.
Blindly following the set societal norms, I ended up doing an MBA (marketing) & got myself a sales job. It was exciting at the beginning but eventually, I started feeling the heat & pressure. Every day started feeling like a punishment. Work stress kept on tearing me apart.
Eventually, I transitioned from conventional to digital sales but realized that the sales dynamics remained constant. Crazy deadlines, difficult clients, unrealistic targets made me think & doubt my future.
Throughout this bumpy ride, my mindfulness & meditation practices played an important role, that of a lifeguard. These practices helped me to cruise through the violent waves of ambiguity & stress.
What I did not realize was that all that I was going through was my practical training of gathering actual experience of cruising through crisis, mindfully. As it is said that life is a tough teacher, it first takes an exam & then teaches a lesson.
All these lessons are now super handy to me when I connect & coach people in my personal coaching program.
